Flynn Christian Fellowship Houses of NJ - Jersey City
Strength in recovery...together.

For nearly 50 years Flynn Christian Fellowship Houses of New Jersey, Inc. has remained true to its mission to provide a safe haven for those afflicted with the disease of addiction, learning to live life on a daily basis, free of mood altering substances.

We provide an atmosphere conducive to the recovery process, teaching individuals to live with others in a highly structured environment while taking responsibility for their own sobriety. Residents are required to remain abstinent, submit to random urine screenings, attend daily Twelve-Step meetings, become gainfully employed, follow a strictly enforced curfew, and re-establish relationships affected by their addiction.

Through affiliation agreements and working partnerships with other professional agencies in the community, the residents at Flynn Fellowship Houses are connected to a variety of services. These services include substance abuse treatment, mental health support, medical services, job placement assistance, continuing education and other quality of life services.

Flynn Christian Fellowship Houses of New Jersey, Inc. was established and incorporated in February of 1961 by a group of individuals concerned for the welfare of alcoholic men with nowhere to go upon release from hospitals or other institutions.

Flynn House maintains no religious affiliation, but was modeled after the Flynn Christian Fellowship sober houses originating in Baltimore some years prior.

In 1963, Flynn House began operations in a second facility located in Jersey City. We are the oldest halfway house in the state of New Jersey still in operation. With facilities in Elizabeth and Jersey City, we can accommodate nearly 70 men daily recovering from the disease of addiction. The Flynn House philosophy is based on the twelve step model of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
